Teacher Training Series – Online
With Ballroom and Latin American Dancesport growing year on year and an array of opportunities and avenues to pursue globally, a need for good mentoring and tried and tested guidelines to help ensure successful pathways long into the future are now very much needed.
Karen realised that her journey in dance and the priceless guidance she acquired over some 45 years, was nurtured quite organically by the best in the business. With decades upon decades of world champions all co-existing in Great Britain as well as the three most prestigious events in the world run from there for over 75 years or more, it was no wonder a strong and successful pathway would be available to her.
Today however, we are over run by social media ‘do’s and don’ts’ which now presents a new case of – who ever has the strongest marketing are now the leaders of our industry! No…What we know it should be is ongoing leadership and guidance from those that have stood the test of time, have experienced and worked through the rights and wrongs and who have an unsurmountable passion for their chosen dance form.
Therefore, a mini 5 week (one hour) Teacher Training Series is being launched to see if any guidance, help and support can be offered to further grow, strengthen and continue to develop dance with sound fundamentals, wisdom and experience that will continue on long into the future.

Testimonials
“I hope that the studios and dancers realise what an amazing opportunity this is and grab it with both hands”
Dance Enthusiasts
“If you have another up here I will definitely be there. I think judges and teachers can learn a lot from these sessions.”
Doug Pouwhare, NZFDT Fellow & Examiner
“The iDDPNZ in Christchurch in 2020 was a great success. As Studio Principals we found the opportunity to work with Karen over two days to be educational, motivational, and a platform to enhance our coaching. The focus on the essential fundamentals of Latin American dance provided a framework for anyone to take their Latin Dancing to the next level. The weekend was simply a master class for all those that attended. We cannot wait to attend the next edition of this world class programme.“
Sharan & Michael Phillips
Former NZ Professional Latin American Champions
Principals – Ballare Dance Studios – Christchurch, NZExecutive Member of NZFDT & NZFDT Competition Organiser
“Any dancer that has not been fortunate enough yet to experience Karen’s teaching is missing out on something amazing! Karen has the remarkable ability to be able to communicate to all dancers regardless of their skill level. When teaching she is entirely focused and puts all her energy into delivering her best every time.”
Phillip Porter & Keri Porter – Wellington Secretary, NZFATD
